You are entitled to make a ‘data subject access request’ to receive a copy of your data up until 3 months after your therapy session terminates. After this period all information I hold will be securely disposed of. If you would like to make a request, please contact me and I will arrange to securely send you the information. There may be a small nominal charge for this. I can refuse the request if your personal information is needed in the defence of exercise of legal claims. You can ask for corrections to be made to the information I hold or for your personal information to be deleted at any time until the information is deleted.

Keeping your personal information safe

I record brief factual notes of our work together which is kept in a confidential and secure location. I also keep your personal data in electronic form which is stored on computer devices using password protected systems which only I can access. There are, however, inherent risks to passing information over electronic networks such as email or websites, and I cannot guarantee the security of any data handled in this way. I do save your phone number on my telephone device; these number can only be accessed by myself. In the event of a loss of my phone, I have a system which blocks my phone immediately so no numbers can be accessed.

Length of storage of your personal information

I am committed to retaining your personal information for no longer than necessary in relation to the purpose for which it was first collected and in line with the law. For my insurance requirements, your records are held securely for a period of 3 months. After this time, all information relating to you is safely destroyed.
